Vaccine Side Effects: What are the chances?
Last week we touched on how vaccines work to explain that they are safe and dispel some of the myths surrounding them. Hopefully, a better understanding of how a vaccine works makes them seem less scary.
This week we are going to focus on the side effects associated with vaccines.
We call side effects from vaccines AEFIs. AEFI stands for adverse effect following immunisation, and it refers to any negative effect that occurs immediately after vaccination.
AEFIs are self-reported for COVID. Some of the main conditions reported are blood clots, inflammation of the heart muscles and allergic reactions.
Below, we discuss each of these and their relative danger.
